Inspired by Indian petrogyph rock art of the American Southwest, New Mexican artist and welder, Doug Weigel, weaves steel and cooper into sophisticated two-dimensional sculptures that help create a stunning new look for the Latilla Restaurant at The Boulders Resort.

The restaurant is a perfect stage for the local art including the flute playing Kokopelis, corn maidens, lizards, snakes and other wild animals that adorn his work and reflect the sculptor's fascination with Native American cultures and legends.  About 30 pieces of Weigel's charming and highly decorative sculpture works are placed in the resorts restaurant, lounge and outdoor fireplace area.  Guests can purchase the artwork directly off the walls or by visiting Adelante Gallery located at el Pedregal at The Boulders. Also view Weigel's six foot in diameter sculpture significantly placed on the island in el Pedregal's courtyard pond.
